The 2017 Skyline Pinot Noir is recommended for those with the patience to enjoy it in time. The Skyline vineyard is planted at a dizzying 2,300 feet above sea level and is the crown jewel of the Rhys holdings. It is also unavailable even to most Rhys wine club members and somewhat of our very own local unicorn wine. The long, cool growing season at this extreme altitude (the Skyline vineyard is one of the highest Pinot Noir vineyards in California) allows Pinot Noir the time to express her most deeply-held secrets. A cornucopia of red and black berry fruits are dressed with French herbs, mushroom, perfume, dusty spice and just a certain je ne sais quoi only Pinot Noir acolytes will understand.
