The vines in this part of Spain are very old, up to 100 years of age, and as a result, their long roots have penetrated deeply into the earth in search of water. A trendsetter here is Alto Moncayo, a winery founded out of collaboration by some of the most respected wine names in Spain. The Alto Moncayo cuvée is their high-end, oak-aged, old-vine Grenache. Expect an abundance of dark berries; pepper; wood and spice.
