Adelsheim, founded in 1978, is one of the original and most important producers in Oregon. David and Ginny Adelsheim sunk their entire life savings on the risk of pioneering Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Chehalem Mountains, outside Portland. This wine, the Staking Claims cuvée, originates from their estate vineyards and showcases the various terroirs Oregon has to offer. Balanced, elegant, and judicious with oak and alcohol, this Chardonnay evokes the spirit of white Burgundy.
